Here's my problem
 

I have my lcd unit, subs, and amp hooked up for about 8 months now...not problems at all...about a month ago, my subs werent working

I took a look at my amp, no lights on the amp.....so i checked everything..i replaced all the fuses, nothing.......I made sure all wires were good and hooked up, check

So i didnt knwo what else to do?? I started drove my truck for 3 days with nothing until all of a sudden after work i started my truck and they worked!! They then worked for about 3 days, then stopped, for about a week, then they started again

They do this off and on thing and I dont know why??

Whats your ground like? Where and how is it hooked up?

No shorts to ground on any power wires for sure?

or possibly a bad remote signal from HU?

Sounds like ground to me.

When it cuts out, does your amp still light up? Does it have different lights, like protection, thermal or anything like that?

I have no lights on my amp.......they are never on

my ground is connected to the screw that held my jack in....like 6-8 inch wire

Ground to chassis. Jacks are notorius for being intermittent.

hmm...ok...why would it have worked for 6 months, then all of a sudden stop??

If i were to un-hook my amp.....the unhook my inline fuse.......then hook my amp up to my power source.....should my amp light come on??
I tryed this and there was no light on my amp??

I think my amp is junk......might think about getting a new on to try??

Ok...so i got a new amp...and it still dosent work...so i guess it was the amp after all

As far as my ground....where should i run it? Like it said before, I now have it connected to my jack screw.....where is a good spot to connect it too??

Other than that, I am lost!!!....Driving me nuts!!

bad remote wire... is it a pioneer H/U?

Actually right after I wrote that...I went back outside to check everything...I took off that piece of plastic trim that I ran my wires under(passenger side)....come to find out, the remote wire was inside one of those clips, which was shorting it out...i took it out of the clip...she works fine now......great new because i just bought a new amp for $120.....awesome.hahaha..o well....

Can we count up how many times it was stated to check all connections, ground wire and Remote wire:help:

Always, before jumping to conclusions, check all connections to be good and that no wires are shorted or damaged. Always make sure you have power to the unit to begin with (volt meter would have answered this). If you have no light on with the amp then the power circuit is not complete, IE bad ground, short, or remote wire is bad (therefore not telling the amp to come on). If there was a problem with the amp (im sure others will chime in) you would smell it burning, or the amp would be in protect mode-red light on.

Old saying though, live and learn, make mistakes and learn from those mistakes. So now that you have an extra amp hook up the subs and amp the doors and turn this negative event into a positive one:banana:
