power wires and RCA's on the same side?

Hey, so I installed my new head unit yesterday and ran the RCA cables back to behind the rear seat along the passenger side to anticipate the amp I'm going to install there.

Well, after reading up on where to run the power cable through the firewall, I've learned that the easiest location is on the firewall behind the glove box and battery. If I run them on the passenger side in that location do you think i'll pick up any noise on the RCA cables? I haven't messed with car audio in a while but remember being told to keep power cables away from RCA input cables.

The cables were about $15 each at Best Buy and are supposed to be shielded.

What do you guys think??? By the way it's in a 2005 Super Cab.

New Eclipse AVN5510 with Sirius, IPod, and Peripheral SWC adaptor installed yesterday....by yours truly....

Normally, you do want them run seperately. If you have not run them yet, then I would say try and run them on opposite sides. You might get away with running them on the same side but, if you run them and have noise, you are stuck or have to start all over.

Power down the passenger side and rca's down the drivers side. You might be able to get away with both down the same side, but like mentioned above, if you get noise you are going to have to do twice the work.

Looks like I'll have to open up the passenger side anyways to pull the power cable...might as well move the RCA's then...boooo

I also have to open the dash again since I apparently hooked up my sirius tuner to the ACC lead instead of the battery - i keep losing my presets...why couldn't eclipse store the presets in the main unit instead of the tuner??? DOH!

The presets are so much better in the Box instead of the unit. (And blame DEI for that...). I am always disconnecting the HU and the bat terminal and as long as it is w/in abt 15 min, the flash mem on the tuner retains the presets.

Ya you could get some nasty whine having them on the same side. The best scenario is RCA's down the middle. But that would be a pain in the ASS
