Switch for Amp's?

I'm running all the wires tomorrow, but waiting until the edead comes in to finish the install.

Anyway - I'm thinking of putting an accessory switch for each amp, so that the wife can turn the amps off when she's driving the truck (which is rare anyway).. What is best way to do this? Do I run the remote to the switch, then to the amp?

in short.....yes. Is she still going to want to listen to the radio though? If so, is she only going to turn off the sub amps or is that all you are putting in is a sub and sub amp? Or, are there speakers that are still going to be hooked up to the factory harness and run by the HU?

just double checkin everything....

I'll probably put a switch just on the sub amp, not the 4-channel...

Thats a really good idea, I might have to do that when I get my truck back from the body shop

then you should be good to go. How you gonna mount it? would be slick if you mounted it in with the other switches on your door handle.

or on your seat where the adjustment controls are.

Not sure.. actually was just thinking of mounting it somewhere inconspicious. I like the hidden look. Probably on the middle console, down on the side where its not really seen...

So is that how its done? With the remote?

yeah, just come off the remote turn on wire from your HU's wiring harness and wire that to your switch. then from the switch to the amp.

Sweet. Thanks.

you'll have a ground wire too. If you want hidden, you could put it down on the kick panels, where your hood release is, and make it a foot tapped switch. For that you would get a push button switch that was on when pressed and off when depressed. Something like that.

Only if he wants a switch with a light.

All you need is a simple toggle switch or something and put in on your remote wire. I have switches on my amps and its a great thing to have.

Mine are right above my radio. Lighted rocker switches, so I did have to run a ground for the light.

How's it wired?

Remote Wire from Deck -> Power Input
Wire to Amp -> Accessory Input

Correct?

Correct.
