2010 HID dual angel eye conversion wiring?

I have a 2010 harley edition and purchased a set of recon dual angel eye hid lights off of a buddy. They did not come with ballasts so I purchased 2 ballasts for each light. My question is where do the hid positive and negative wires get spliced into? The headlamp connector has 3 wires going into it because it is a hi/lo beam. Now I know that the three wires are a positive a negative and a ground. Would I be able to just splice the hids into the oem headlamp wiring?

NO.

There is only + and - (gnd)

You wasted yer money. These are junk.

You NEED a proper relay harness to even begin to do this properly. Without it you risk all sorts of issues. And - you will STILL be left with poorly performing, glaring lighting.

Look here: www.theretrofitsource.com and READ. Then Read some more, because clearly you need to understand what you are about to do.

WTF, man .. with all of the fantastic advice on what NOT to buy on this site, you go and do this ....

All I can say is ... yer 'buddy' must really HATE you

Well as Mgd said, bad idea.
But since we are a forum here to help people no matter what dumb thing they did we'll try to help you..

Few questions
1. Did the lights come with hid capsules or halogen?

2. Do you have a link to what you bought?

3. What type of ballast you buy? Amp or d2s?

4. Do you have your flame suit on?

Answer those following questions and we can try to help you more.
Honestly tho for the price I've seen recon head lights ($600). You child have done a retrofit for cheaper and had 10x better light output..

What! Why would anyone do that? That's like putting a v6 in place of a v8.

And the worse thing is when you turn them on and realize they suck you can't go back, because you cut off your stock wiring harness..so much fail..

Heads up for all the backyard mechanics on here. Got it all wired up safely. Paid 200 for lights. 120 for 55w low beam and canbus ballast. 65 for high beams plus ballast. And I gutted the lights and painted the inside and smoked the reflector. So that's 385 total for a complete hid swap with lights that nobody else has. Considering the lights are 650 from the states add shipping and border fees all you so called "professionals" on here should keep to your backyard hacking of your trucks.

Right - you go girl, and keep right on blinding everyone you meet with the worst beam pattern and output going - until that cheap Chinglish garbage starts to fail, or someone shoots them out, or yer truck burns down due to a crap harness/fusing - whichever comes first - which won't be long. I guess the dumb RiCeR look is an added bonus too!!!

IF That's yer definition of "Professional", you have a LOT more issues than it first appears

Some people's kids - Unbelievable .... And yer Canuckistanian? How utterly embarrassing ....

Yo hayseed - I routinely order from TRS - no hassles whatsoever shipping to Ontario .. and a complete HIGH Quality retrofit that actually WORKS, is far less than the garbage yer running with FAR better output and quality.

You were given Great advice - hard-won and you go and do this .... And you call US hacks? Hahahahahahhahaaaaaaa!!!!

*hit head at birth*

MGD out.

Pics, or it didn't happen.

Actually, never mind. I don't want to see the pics because what I have envisioned ain't a purty pitcher.

If yer doing it just to be 'different' and have 'lights that nobody else has', then mission accomplished. Congratulations. However, you do realize 'different' ain't always the best. Heck, sometimes it ain't even better. This situation? The latter, for certain.

Shame. You have $385 plus time invested in this project. If you'd spent that much at The Retrofit Source and invested about the same amount of labor, you'd have something that not only works/looks better than most OEM hid setups, but it would be 'different', too. Double win!

As it is, you neglected the expertly sound advice you were given, spent way too much on junk, and now have an inferior product. Triple fail!

But it's yer truck, yer money. Do what thou wilt. Yer bound and determined to be differ'nt. So was this feller:

Ok - all BS'in aside, Janice, but if you'll look at ol' Dewser's sig pic, just imagine those heads on yer Harley.

They not only Look fantastic, they Work fantastically well.

Have a look at an FX-R's beam pattern, intensity and width, and notice the precise cutoff as well, in these posts.

Wait! When did the definition of backyard mechanic change? Who made this decision? Why was I not informed!?

To the OP you do realize my retrofit was way less than webcast you spent and I know I have far more output, width, distance, precision and way less hazardous due to your headlights causing glare.
