pic on dyno

Ta-Da!

Introducing -- the VANGINA!
This is a hilarious thread - one of the pics still shows me with my old man's ponytail - I wore it for years, not because I particularly wanted long hair, but literally because I hated to take the time to take a hour out of the shop every couple of weeks to go get my hair cut - so I just wore it in a ponytail for about 5 years or so - I finally woke up one day and realized that it made me look about 10 years older, and cut if off - so that picture was funny to see. It was also nice to see that truck again, as that truck had the most perfect tune I have ever seen, and made one of the highest power readings for it's level of mods we have ever seen - we tuned him via "mail order", just as we normally do almost all of our custom tunes (and which a few know-nothings of late try to claim is "canned' and not custom), and when it arrived here and we datalogged it, everything was right on the money, it hit it's commanded A/F's *exactly*, and actually produced 102 percent load )volumetric efficiency, the way Ford looks at it) - I have never seen a better-tuned F-150 in all my years, and we didn't' need to change anything, and changes we made just trying things only produced lower power, so we went right back to what we originally sent out to him. To hit, let alone actually exceed, 100% volumetric efficiency when the MAF TF is perfect on a naturally aspirated engine that is lightly modded with just simple bolt-ons is unheard of, yet this truck did it - this owner has much to be proud of. And his scenario is repeated many times in terms of us not needing to make any adjustments to "tweak" or dial in our baseline custom tunes, that happens very frequently - usually about the only thing we do in many cases is to simply give the owner all our latest updates, but the basic tunes does not change - THAT is what we are able to do in many cases because of how many years we have been specializing in these F-150's, and this truck is one of the shining examples of this fact.
And for Phil - we *do* have pictures here of "Vangina", your Mexican hauler (his work van, an E250 SuperDuty monster weighing 4 tons - thank God our lift can handle 18,000 lb!), on the dyno - they are posted up in our lobby when you first walk in. Everyone gawks at it and has a good laugh!
Now that's a man who wants maximum power in ALL his vehicles, even if it is a 4-ton work van!!
We have been taking digital pics of everyone's vehicles here, but we need to take more regular pics as well with Anita's 35mm SLR so that we have both on hand, so that we can post them up in the lobby as well as have them available for whenever I finally find the time to update our web site - we have pics of hundreds of vehicles that have been here!
Yes, people are free to take & post pics here - the only restriction we have is that we don't allow anyone to photograph what is on the screen of my laptop that I tune on, as that is obviously proprietary info. I do show a lot of the people we tune certain aspects of what we are doing & how Ford controls things, just to increase their understanding, and to give them reasonable expectations, etc., I just don't want that posted all over the Internet. Other than what's on my laptop screen, people can take pics & post them here no problem.
Last - yes, I am the "older" guy standing on the right in the picture just above - thanks.

We might have something in common...the 70's
Due to my work schedule, I'm looking at April 13th. Yeah, Friday the 13th! Are you game? Will this give us enough time to get the download from my truck to you and time for you to look at it? Got to get this tranny right!
