Aftermarket for 2004 Reg. Cab F-150

Hey,
I'm new here, and i'm trying to find a new 2004 Reg. Cab F150 flareside stx, and after i finally find one i was wanting to put electric windows and posibly locks. I have looked for a past thread telling about this but can't find one. Is it easy, cheap(but i want quality)? And also i'd like to add carpet, how's that to do? Thanks

In the 2004-2005 forum it has been covered many times. Try searching there for power windows or actuator.

Myself, I installed the Ford power window regualator/motors in the doors. They are a direct bolt in replacement for the manual window regulators. They run about $100 per door from an online ford parts dealer.

This is the power window regulator/motor.

Then I bought an aftermarket power window switch kit and mounted the switches on either side of the cigarette lighter like Chris Adams had done. (Crhris Adams switches shown below)

For power door locks, I bought this MES central locking door lock kit.

I also bought the Valet model 712t Keyless Entry System to add remote keyless entry.

It was not hard to install, but it is time consuming and took me about two days total (1 day for each install over two seperate weekends) to install both the power windows and the door locks with keyless entry. It may take you less time depending on your experience in dealing with automotive wiring. I myself have had little experience and everything came out great. It was well worth the effort to now have power windows and door locks.

Those are the components that I chose to use for my power windows and door locks install.

By doing a search in the 2004-2006 F150 forum for power windows and door locks you will find a lot of information on this subject. A lot of people have added power windows and door locks to their trucks. A few have done the factory window regulators like I have, but there are many more that have used universal power window kits such as the Colibri kit, which is less expensive. You will also see several other options for window switches and mounting locations as well. It all depends on what you want and what you are willing to spend.

Hope this helped some, and good luck.

I ordered mine through the ford dealer.

They have them online here though.
