Tailgate opening on it's own
 

2015 f150 lariat with remote tailgate that is starting to open randomly. Anyone swap in a normal handle?

What are the chances it's the key? Sitting on it?

Nope, standing there with key in hand when it did it. Also noticed button on tailgate isn't always working.

Used my door keypad recently and heard the tailgate open.

I must have hit too many buttons or something...but that may do it by accident too.

Worked fine for awhile again... Started doing it yesterday again. This time, it opened on my way to work, then opened probably 5 times on it's own after I got home. Have a crappy video of it opening with me standing there key in hand. Took it apart to check connections this morning and found corrosion starting on the switch on the tailgate.

There is a recall on the new SuperDuty for this but havent seen anything on the F150 yet or heard of anyone having that issue. On the SuperDuty Ford is replacing the switch and pigtail. Hope this helps some not sure of the root cause but that is what they are doing to remedy.
