2015 F150 Electronics Dead
2015, F-150, 61K miles, 3.5L ECO-boost,
All electronics die after attempting to use unlock button on fob. On a second occasion, electronics died after turning key in the ignition to the ON position. When this happens, it appears nothing works (power locks, horn, automatic start, lock/unlock from fob, alarm system, no dashboard lights, truck does not turn on, ect). I tried to jump the battery but this did not help at all. It was only after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery that I was able to get the truck to turn on. Could this be a computer issue? Is there a part that could possibly be related to this issue that I could replace or update? |
Try cleaning your battery terminals first.
|
Also get your battery load tested.

Next time it happens, take one jumper cable and put it on the negative side of the battery. Connect it first to the engine. Make sure you have a clean ground. If that solves the issue, you have a bad ground to the engine. If it didn't fix it, take the battery jumper cable from the negative post to the frame. If it solves the issue you have a bad ground at the frame. If that doesn't fix it, run the jumper cable from the engine to the frame. All of your issues sounds like a ground problem to me.

both of those functions go in/out of the CJB (interior smart fuse box) Its possible that you have an issue there.
do you have/had any water leaks in the cab? Windshield replaced? Sunroof drain tubes clogged? |
