New to me ‘15 F150
Much to my disappointment, my ‘05 F150 has gone on to that place where a lot of 5.4 3v’s go. Somebody else’s repair shop.
Needing a dependable vehicle to get to work like everyone else. I picked up an off lease 2015 F150 with a 3.5 EcoBoost, 29k on the odometer and a clean car fax etc.
I don’t plan on making any similar mods that I did on the ‘05. Except, I want to add a subwoofer and eventually figure out how to get apple car play.
This thing is so much faster than the ‘05!
Cheers!

Being a 15 it most likely came with sync 2 or My Ford Touch if it has the 8" touchscreen. There are conversion kits out there to switch it over to the newer SYNC 3 system and apple car play and android auto works on it. If you have the smaller 4" screen don't worry, you can still do the upgrade, you just get more parts to switch out and it costs a little more. BTW the kits all use genuine ford parts so it looks and works just like OEM

I have an 8” screen with MFT. I would like to have navigation on the 8” screen. I found a great thread on upgrading to Sync3 at mustang6g forum. I’m pretty sure I have to obtain a the sync3 8” screen and the media hub module to get apple car play, I would use ACP for navigation.

Yep, the newer powertrain configs are way better in terms of get up and go.
It's like my '07 Jeep Compass, it's got a 2.4l i4 5 speed standard. Great vehicle, except for the suspension. But slow as a molasses compared to the newer models with the same config; manual but the newer engine.
Same goes for my F150, great truck, but power-wise, even the base engine doesn't even match up with the power from the newer base engines.
This is all in terms of acceleration.
I still can't believe the power from the new 6.7l PSD that Ford has. My work just bought two F350 reg cabs SRW 4x4 (similar packages I want), and those things are amazing. They go so much power, they feel like you are driving a sports car. A far cry from when I was toying with the idea of getting a SD with the 6.0l back in '07 instead of my F150. Kind of glad I'm waiting...
