18 XLT FX4 Screw 3.5EB 302A intro and details

Man, that’s a lot of Mumbo jumbo! I’ve had trucks when I was younger, and a beater F100 as a truck for chores around the house, but this is my first nice truck. I’ve had cars for the last 10 years or so but being in construction, decided to get a truck mainly for appearances sake, but it has come in handy multiple times so probably was a good move.

Ive got 7000 miles on her and am averaging 18.4mpg. Not sure if that is good or not yet.

I got the leveling done at Les Schwab for $360 and got the tonneau cover, a Bak revolver X2 from Garage Auto Accessories for $800. It is an aluminum roll up, install was easy and it’s been doing the job. Although seems ridiculously easy to break into.

Next step is BFG KO2’s unless someone has a better alternative. Vast majority of my miles will be highway, but I do go to the snow a fair amount and basic off-roading. I hear great things about the tires but also hear that the road noise can get atrocious. But they look meaty enough, supposed to last a good while and still drive fine on highway.

Anyway cheers and feel free to ask or comment

about anything I noted above

Nice truck! 18 is way better than I get in my '15, but then I have a massive grill on the front and I run KO2's. The tires alone dropped my mileage about 1.5 , so I only average around 16. I bought a lightly used set of KO'2 when I picked up my truck and still managed to get over 40K on them. My current set looks brand new and they have 20K miles on them.
Road noise, there is some, but it is really not noticeable. On my old trucks I rode on KO/KO2's as well, so I probably have close to 200K miles driven on this type of tire. I am a little biased.

Yeah the KO2 seems to be the perfect middle ground between looking the part, being capable off road and still having good road qualities.

Only issue seems to be that I can get a set of brand new Raptor takeoffs for the price of the tires in 18” size. Gonna save up the cash on the side and then decide based on whatever deal there is at the time in a month or so.
