Transmission cooler question

Hello all, this is my first time posting so please bare with me here.
I have a 2015 ford f150 ecoboost 3.5 litre xlt. My truck has the tow package as far as the 3.55 locking rear end, the elec brake controls, and frame mounted tow hitch. However it didn't come with a aux trans cooler, just the "in tank" cooler.

I'm going to get in a few days the stock oem trans cooler for my make and model but i have questions about where to hook in the trans cooler lines. Do I keep the lines flowing to the radiator and into the cooler and then back to the trans or could i skip the radiator all together and just use the new aux cooler? Any help would be appreciate it thank you

Use the radiator cooler. It will warm the fluid in the winter and help in the cooling in the summer. Adding a separate trans cooler in series will also help cool the engine because the trans fluid coming to the radiator is cooler than it would have been.

Install it after the radiator cooler.

And follow glc's advice about installing it after the radiator cooler.

Make sure to hook it up so that you don't bypass the thermostat. These transmissions need to run a lot hotter than older trucks do.

First of all, the 6R80 transmission thermostat is inside the transmission, not in the cooler line. Normal flow is trans>in rad cooler>external cooler> trans. The stock cooler is about $60 at rockauto. Source some lines to hook it all up and away you go.
