What does your owner's manual say is to be used?

I hate it when people "answer" a question with another nonsensical question

And for the record, owners manuals never give any guidance on aftermarket parts. It doesn't do me any good to tell me to go buy ford branded coolant for $25 per gallon, especially when the dealer is closed and it doesn't matter anyway

my my last truck said to use ford coolant but found out here to use zerex g05 for 1/3 the cost

i found conflicting information about the newer trucks

If you look in your manual, you will see what Ford recommends. From there it's a simple Google search.

Don't be so lazy, whiny, and needy. Get off your *** and look it up.

Again, not helpful... I do not want to buy the ****ing $25.00 per gallon motorcraft coolant which is what is listed in the manual

He means that you need to look in the manual for the SPEC and use that in your Google search to find products that meet that SPEC.

You need to add anti freeze to a new truck? I would address that issue first.

I did your homework for you. G-05 is NOT compatible.

You need Ford spec WSS-M97B44-D or -D2. This crosses to Dex-Cool. However, I'm finding that you should NOT mix with Dex-Cool, you need Motorcraft Specialty Orange.

The service manager at my dealership told me it was ok to mix with Dexcool. I did it and had no issues in the 3.5 years that I owned my 2011.

I did that exact same research, and found exactly what you did before I even posted here.

I found conflicting things about dexcool being compatible, or not, with the "motorcraft orange", also some people saying G-05 was ok.

This is still in my opinion a questiion. As it was, I just added distilled water and am rolling like that.

It wasnt significantly now, it was just at the "low" mark on the reservoir. I had a 2200 mile trip ahead of me and wanted to make sure everything was topped off before I left.

Asking the question here got a series of smartass remarks, and unhelpful replies.

I just ended up adding about a quart of distilled water to get it to the "high" fill line and called it a day... I don't live somewhere that it freezes (Florida), so this is a non-issue.

Also, before all this, I called the ford dealer and they want $25.00 for a gallon of their "premium orange" coolant, which is ****ing ridiculous... which is why I was looking for alternatives.
