Took the hit pretty darn good

Any insurance confirmations of higher premiums yet?

I thought the truck handled it pretty well.

I was not really impressed by his hits. It would be interesting to see the damage inflicted by a guy who swings a sledge hammer for a living instead of an editor.

I don't really see the point. There is damage that still has to be repaired. Probably will cost as much or more than if it were steel.

The point is how much higher is the cost to repair aluminum? The answer is quite a bit. Metal work for steel calls for $60/hr labor rate at that Ford dealer, whereas the aluminum is $120/hr

But it's all hypothetical if we don't have a steel bed side to compare it to, no? I would venture to guess there would be more damage to a steel bed.

Agreed, I think the steel will be worse, but what is the point? Either one will need repairing and repainting.

I'm baffled on that too. I don't get what it shows.

Good side: if you don't fix the Al version, it won't rust!

Aluminum corrodes. The underside of my hood is corroded in certain spots.

Other than the fact that the editor is a limp-wristed wimp, I dunno either. Pointless indeed.

It's a pick-me-up, not Knightrider's KITT.

Come on he hit that pretty darn hard. I don't think anybody can argue that. The truck is shaking after the hit.

I think it proves that the aluminum is pretty darn tough. As for the point, I suppose it shows that it's more costly to fix AL but we all knew that already.

I have insurance so I really don't give a hoot. A deductible is there for a reason.
