When he posted this vid, James asked if this could be the beginning of a street truck revival. But I think it's already underway, as Roush sells a lot more F-150 performance parts than they do Mustang parts — and that car used to be their bread and butter. Regardless, this video is pretty dope.

I like how he didn't go overboard with exterior mods too.

I like it. It's neat.

I got the luxury of driving a brand new F-350 XL reg cab 4x4 with the 6.7l and heavy duty front axle. Very nice truck. Talk about out of the box power.

While I love my F150, I want to get a PSD. But, I don't know if I want regular cab or super cab. Still got some time to think about it, but I know the day when I want to move up will be here before I know it.

If you want a new full size truck with a manual transmission, the only game left in town is the Ram/Cummins.

glc, I know. lol Trust me... I know.

To be honest, I'm getting sick of shifting. After driving so many work vehicles with automatics, it's like when I get behind the wheel of my own personal vehicles, it's like, ugh, all this work to go home. I know, sounds lazy...

It is fun to drive stick, but when you are tired and you just want to get home, it's not fun.

So if I'm going to get a new vehicle with an automatic, I want something that is heavy duty. I've had terrible experiences with junk automatics in the past (CD4E for one). Seems like Ford has the F-Superdutys in a good realm with transmissions with the 6.7l. Haven't read to many problems or issues.

I was just reading an article about manufacturers (foreign and domestic) in regards to in house transmissions versus outsourced transmissions. To cut to that chase on the truck market... Dodge went with Aisin transmissions and I hear they are good. GM has been using Allison for a long time and those seem pretty stout. Ford uses an in house 6R140 for their PSD and folks seem quite happy with it. Seems across the board, they've really focused on the diesel truck market on transmissions to make them last. So I'm not afraid of getting one. And with the amount of "light duty" use I'll be giving it, I would hope it would outlast 150k before a rebuild.

Gas engines on the other hand... eh... little sketchy. Except for the Ford SD which uses the same on both the gas and diesel variants.

So in a few years, my username will no longer be applicable... haha

and will likely be paired with their 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine
Now that would be sweet!

Yeah, just like the rumors that the 2011 F150 with the 3.7 was going to offer a 6 speed manual.

Yep, I remember.

Here's some more neat data on standard shift... freshly released 6 days ago. Data courtesy of CarMax.

Can't believe Albany, NY was 7th on the list of Top 10 cities where its sales are highest for manual transmissions.

I've got one of these supercharged 5.0 Coyote trucks and they are the ultimate street sleepers. Mine was special ordered through Beechmont Ford (Cincinnati, OH) in early July 2020, built at the Kansas City truck plant, then delivered to Beechmont for modification. Once Beechmont's Special Vehicles Team worked their magic, it was shipped to Houston, TX in late September, 2020.

As advertised, the truck made 725 horsepower when it left Beechmont with Whipple's 2.9 liter Gen IV supercharger, a 4.00 blower pulley, 10 lbs. of boost, and tuned with the Whipple Tomahawk R6 programmer. Since then, I've installed a 3.750 blower pulley to put the boost on mine at 12 lbs. and horsepower around 770 with the 98 octane fuel I run in it. I see it as being a Super Snake F-150 without all the fancy Shelby extras or the $100,000 price tag. I chose to leave the appearance of my truck rather tame and somewhat boring... no fancy wheels, paint, or graphics. It even retains the whisper-quiet, single exit, stock exhaust. The only external mods I've made are 2-inch drop shackles, an UnderCover tonneau cover, BedRug bedliner, 265/65/17 Michelin radials on the rear, and some window tint. Otherwise, it looks just like your typical landscape truck. LOL

I owned a modified 500 HP 2001 Lightning from 2001 until 2016 and I can honestly say this truck would destroy my Lightning. There's a guy on YouTube (Boosted F150) that is making 1,000 horsepower and is running mid-9s with his, but I have no desire to do that with my truck. It's plenty fast already and I enjoy the smooth, comfortable, quiet ride too much. It really is a fun truck to just cruise around in and hand out the unexpected surprise of a smack down every now and then.
