Figured it's worth a shot to ask. So this is a question actually for my 15 XLT Expedition but I would think there are similarities with the F150.

I've added the factory brake controllers to several F150s for dealers and then the would activate it in the programming but in my case we can't find anything in the programming at all to turn it on. Wiring was there behind the dash to plug it in but that's about it. My Expedition didn't come with the 7pin trailer connector so I upgraded it to one and found the blue trailer brake wire back by the hitch capped off.

I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue adding the brake controller and had additional software flashed.

 

Over on F150forum.com they have had a long running conversation on this issue. Ford knows about it and I think the cure is mentioned in one of the threads,.
