Mpg

I've checked MPGs a couple of times with pen and paper, the dash display has been plus .5-1 mpg off of my figures. Even with that in mind, I'm happy with this. I've been seeing 19-21 highway mpg on my 60 mile round trip to work. The dash tells me 23.9 so even if it's 1 mpg off, I still take 22.8 out of a 5.0 with 3.73 gears. When I pulled in the garage, it was up to 23.9, wonder if I could hit 24 if I kept rolling down the four lane?

My 2014 and my 2018 both were optimistic on the dash versus hand calculated MPG usually around +1

Those aren't bad for 4x4 numbers

Yea, the hand calculations I've made were all a little lower than the truck was telling me. Maybe Grace ( as my jealous wife calls her) just knows what to whisper to me.

I don't have the 5.0 but my 2018 2.7 gets 24+mpg in eco mode

Does anybody with a 2.7 ECO have numbers for a 300 - 500 mile highway trip? I'm thinking it would be impressive.

I went from Knoxville, TN to St. Pete, FL (700 miles) and hand-calculated 23.1 mpg. This was with a 2.7L EcoBoost, 4x4, 3 adults and their associated crap in the bed. Coming back up to TN, I saw a 1 mpg drop in mileage. I was very happy with those numbers for such a long trip, given that I only have the 23 gallon fuel tank.

If my 2018 Lariat (2.7 Eco, 4dr Crew Cab, 6.5' box, 4x2) comes in on time we may actually take it on a 2600 mile round trip at the end of June. I will post what I see. BTW, I'm actually a stickler for keeping records (probably because of my engineering background).

No idea how y'all are doing this or if there's something wrong w/ my truck (dealer will say "unable to reproduce" or "normal"). On pure highway driving, I typically get 17-18. I have rarely gotten 21 when doing 65 with the cruise on FLAT terrain. 3.55 gears 5.0L crew cab 4x4.

Aerodynamics takes its toll on the taller 4x4 trucks. As does speed, my truck gets shocking good fuel economy with slower cruising speed

23-25 @60
21-22 @70
20 @ 80

Just have to weigh out what you're wanting as speed (time) vs economy

3 hour drive back to the flatlands from the Mts. 18.8 MPG (driveway to driveway, same roads and settings.)

I have a buddy who owns a '15 and always brags on his mileage based on his trk's readout, looking here I see that my '07 does at least as well and I do figure by hand and I use a SGI which I find to be very close.

I would take the huge increase in power and respectability with the 5.0 over the 1-2 mpg savings in the 2.7...
