Exclamation Grinding noise from tire area when driving at slow speeds or hitting the break

I have a 2015 F-150 3.5L ecoboost with 42,000 miles. Lately I have been experiencing a grinding noice that is coming from the driver tire area. It usually happens when I first drive the truck for the day and will not happen again after a few miles of driving. The grinding usually occurs when I step on the breaks to slow down but it will also occur when driving at slow speeds (15mph or less). The grinding will not come back after I reach higher speeds unless I let the truck cool off for several hours then it will do it again for a few miles before going away. It does NOT make the grinding sound every time I drive and I have noticed that when it does happen, it is usually cold outside. Any ideas as to what the problem is??

could be some crud is on your rotor, or you could have a warped rotor, your brake pads could be shot, you may have the early warning of a bad front bearing.... those would be the first things I would look at.

With 42,000 miles on the truck I'm voting on the brake pads. The rotors could be warped also.

x2 on the rotors/pads.

Sand/salt is hard on brakes.

Break pads are new. I have been reading and saw some people are saying they have the same issue even with brand new trucks. They are saying it could be the IWE actuator.

Does the noise go away if you put the truck in 4Hi?

leaking check valve is often the problem. replace the valve. YG360 is the part number. happens when the diaphragm gets hard in the cold.
