Warped Dash 2017

Need y'all to do me a favor. Got out to your trucks 2015 and up. From outside look into the windshield at the defroster vents. Tell me what you see if anything. Apparently this is pretty common and some have had it replaced 2 or 3 times. Every person i know with a 13th gen has this issue. Around 7 people so far including my 2017 with 2600 miles on it.

That's pretty bad. I'm assuming you have to park your truck in the sun? If so, once you get the dash replaced, I'd recommend you install a Dashmat (they have molded ones now that have no seams, or, the suede fabric looks good too), AND, I'd get a windshield shade and use it everytime you are parked in the open.

I remember this happened on a leather-covered T-Bird dash I once had, and it was much worse on that car. I've used Dashmats on every vehicle since. Janet had a Toyota that did that too. The plastics in the dash just seem to warp in direct sunlight.

Hey Jack

Thats the think it sits in the garage 97 percent of the time. I cant think of the last time it sat in the sun for more than a hour. Im guessing from December to May while it was sitting on tje dealer lot is when the warping occured.

Ive looked into the Weathertech fitted Windiw Shades and think im going to try that route.

Just sucks for a brand new truck to already have a waroed dash. That should be something in 20 years, not 9 months lol.

There is a discussion about it on F150forum:

"I went this past weekend to look at some 2017s I could not find 1 truck that had a good clean dash that was not warping/seperating around the upper vents.

Not cool ford....this has been going on for a while 2015,2016,2017"

https://www.f150forum.com/f118/2015-...95214/index42/

PS Reading the comments, it is also happening to the 2018s and there is no permanent fix for it.
