Driver and passenger walked away...
According to the HP, both guys still needed to go to the hospital, but their injuries were relatively minor. That's not what I'd expect from a nightmare wreck like this. Wow. More photos and full details here.

I can hear the GM guys, The ladder rack, yeah, the ladder rack is what saved them.
My youngest girl was in a wreck with her then boyfriend who was driving a 2004 FX4. A guy in a heavy van truck hit them head on as he ran thru a red light. Totaled both trucks. They managed to get out of the passenger side window. Neither of them were hurt. The big truck driver got a ride to the hospital in an ambulance.
The same girl was driving a little GM Jimmy. She got hit sitting at a stop light. The car that hit her in the rear was doing 70 and never touched the brakes. The car was a Neon. Two people and a baby killed in the Neon. The impact knocked the rear axle off of the Jimmy and knocked the engine and transmission completely out of it. The ONLY place not completely destroyed was the drivers seat. Thankfully, no more phone calls in the middle of the night....knock on wood.
