Just ordered my 2015 F150 King Ranch FX4 Ecoboost

Pretty much got it all loaded out to the gills, however, I chose the 3.5 Ecoboost and 3.31 gears.

I currently have the 12 Ecoboost FX4 with 3.73 gears and its very quick but I chose the 3.31s for better fuel economy. I am now afraid its gonna be a dog. Should I go back for the 3.55 gears atleast? Its another 500 bucks to do that when ordering as an option.

Driving wise I drive about 70% city and 30 highway.

in the city you would likely get better fuel mileage with 3.55 gears than 3.31...

I'm not sure you can get the 3.55 with the FX4. I was playing with the online configuration yesterday and it wouldn't let me get those two options together. It might be an error in the tool though.

Roughly 12% reduction in torque multiplication .... depends on what the word "dog" means to you I guess. I think it'll still please you .... likely you'll not notice unless a lot of towing is in the future.

Are the 3.73s no longer an option? I do not see them listed.

Also my dealer rep said that they revised the 6 speed for this new generation model year with better internal gearing and more robust-ness.

Higher gears won't be as big of an issue with the truck being on a diet

With the Eb, there wont be much noticeable difference between 3.73s and 3.31's.

So my order was changed also for Platinum White/Carribou.

I just saw Guard/Caribou pics and it's also very beautiful color combination... What are you guys' favorite color combos on the King Ranch?

Also- I was told I couldn't get active park assist (front sensors) unless I got the adaptive cruise control option for that ridiculous price...is this true?

Yuup!!! Requires the Technology Package, and Adaptive Cruise and Collision Warning with Brake Support. I'd at least get the Technology Package which has the 360-degree camera.

Correct, cars are expensive nowadays man. Gone are the days where you can shell out 30k for a fully loaded pick up, like back in the mid 90s.

Today a Toyota Tacoma, 4x4, with cloth interior is around 38k.

I am actually getting the truck at 500 over invoice price so roughly 56k. That is really not much considering it has more luxury and features than a high end Lexus or BMW.

It's a tough nut to swallow on a truck. I have to disagree with better quality than a Lexus or a Beemer, close but it's no BMW. They just ooze quality and performance. Take push button start for instance. My fiancee's 2006 Suzuki Gran Vitara has push button start, or adaptive cruise control, my fathers old Toyota mini van has that. These things are not new and should have been standard a long time ago. What have they been doing for the past 7 years.

Things have certainly gone up in price and salaries have not followed. It would be okay if everything went up but that is not the case. I'm looking at half a million dollar houses, how insane is that, all they are is a pile of wood with some siding.

Sorry for the rant, I'm super jealous of the truck and looked forward to the pictures!

I appreciate that, a tough nut to swallow, is shelling that out for a sedan that is virtually not practical. I almost bought a E63 AMG, that would be cool for 6 months then when my friends go on long road trips to the lake....what the hell am I gonna do with a car in that situation.
