Help with Airbag Warning Symbol

Hey guys,

I got a brand new XL last week and this symbol is always lit next to the "Passenger Airbag Off' alert. Is this normal? I can't find this symbol anywhere in the owner's manual

Thx.

Does it go away when you re-enable the passenger airbag?

Really, that particular symbol? What page? It's not in the symbols glossary on pages 7-9 nor is it discussed in the supplemental restraint pages 49-53. There is a picture of that indicator bar on page 47 all lit up but no mention of what that symbol is.

Yes, there is a "front airbag" symbol but it's different. It does not have that circle with an X on it or the number 2.

There is no way to do that. The system is automatic and senses when a passenger is in the seat.

Reading between the lines in the manual, that may be the airbag readiness indicator. Lit up, the system is not ready.

You said you couldn't find the symbol, you didn't say you couldn't find it's definition. That's a different question, not asked.

It means there is nobody sitting in the passenger seat. I found downloading the manual from MyFord makes it easier to find something.
