2017 Transmission Question

Hi all. I'm new to this forum (very long time lurker), but not to F150s. I've had, in succession, a 98, 09, 13, 15 and now a 17. The 17 I picked up day before yesterday, a Lariat with all the goodies, including 3.5 eco boost and the new 10 speed.

So, I have a question about the 2017 transmission. Does anybody else's shift like a tractor. A very old, poorly maintained tractor? I've only got 300 miles but this thing is HORRIBLE! Particularly downshifting at 10-15 mph. I rolled the windows down and you can hear it clunk from outside the truck. I'm not concerned about it breaking down, I think it's a programming issue. I know they were held at the factory in December to address transmission issues. Maybe they shoulda been held a few weeks left longer! Anyway, I just wanted to see if I'm a one off or if anyone else sees the same thing.

Mac

I'd get it back to the dealer ASAP.

Well, obviously if this continues it will go in at some point. But the question was "Does anybody else see the same thing?" I've read some mixed reports about harsh shifting on this tranny, eapecially in the first few weeks, and was trying to get someone who actually has one to comment on their experience. You know, as in "Yes, mine was like that too for the first couple of weeks.", or "Yes, mine did that and I had to have the tranny reflashed", or even "Nope, mine has been perfectly smooth since day one."

Anyway, test drive was the usual, 10-12 miles, no big deal. Again, this is my 5th F150 in a row, and an upgrade from a 15, so wasn't particularly doing a deep dive into it. Really checking options more than anything. The harsh shifting is only occasional. But when it does it, it REALLY does it. As I said, I'm 98% certain it's a programming issue, not mechanical. That's why I am particularly interested in hearing other owners experiences.

I also have a Larist with the new 10 speed and have noticed similar but not as bad down shifts below 15 mph. Down shifts in general are noticeable as the transmission skips several gears.

Better but still a little clunky at low speed down shifts
