I have 33x11's and absolutely no problems. If I wasn't worried about mpg I would run a 285/60/20 which would be like 1/2 inch larger height and width.

245/70-17 on a 4x4? I thought only the 2wd models came with that size? Every new F150 I've seen with 4wd has either 245/75-17 or 265/70-17.

If you truly have 245/70-17 on a 4x4, you'd easily be able to clear the 265/70-17 (which is a stock size for your truck), which will be an inch larger. You'd gain about 1/2" in ride hight, they'd fill out the wheel wells more, but not look stuffed. If you want a bit more of a stuffed look, 285/70-17 would probably still clear too.

245/70R17 = 30.5"
265/70R17 = 31.6"
285/70R17 = 32.7"

Why, he can convert the sizes. Overall tires are pretty much round last time I looked.

The 17" are more oval, and in some cases, even squared off.

Oh wait, that's the GM trucks.

A 285x70x17 which is close to a 33 inch tire will fit at stock height on a 4x4 using the factory wheels.

If I ask someone to tell me how far it is from point A to point B, and they tell me in Kilometers, I would be pissed... yes I know I can do the conversion, but if you are taking the time to answer the guy, give him the answer he needs. It's pretty dumb to assume he's going to go out and buy 20" wheels or knows how to do the conversion, not sure I know how, but i'm sure there's a website somehwere that does that for you.

So, you ask for help, someone helps you but it isn't in the exact form that you expected and you might just have to do a little bit of work, and then you are pissed. You are one ungrateful son of a gun, dude!

Seriously, there are thousands of different sizes of tires, and all 3 numbers matter to calculate size. Any help (with numbers for 20" wheels) is better than none, right?

Any help is better than no help. And telling the OP what 20" tires will fit will translate directly to 17" tires. Seriously, figure the outer dimensions and widths and voila!

It's crap like your response that keeps people from getting answers. Posters are afraid of the internet bullies bashing their post trying to help. No good deed goes unpunished.

I'm pretty sure the posts with 20" wheels were 1000000000 times more helpful than yours.

Or, maybe I'm just in a bad mood today.

If I KNEW the OP's answer, IE: what's the biggest size tire (for a 17" wheel) that would fit on the truck, I would have given it. I suggested it would be more helpful if you provided the actual size for his wheel. Not for a wheel he dont have. Some of you jumped on me.

It's not about being an internet bully, it's about trying to provide accurate info
