just bought a 2013 F150 Lariat and was trying to figure out if it has the Max tow package . I went to some sites to get the window sticker with the VIn but had no luck. the truck has the 3.5 twin turbo and L6 axel (3.73) . Any help would be appreciated

You should be more concerned about the max allowed payload, which is on your door sticker. 99% of the time you will exceed that before you exceed the tow rating. Tongue weight is considered payload, along with everything in the cab and bed except a driver and 1/4 tank of gas.

EDIT: Looks like the link to the calculator is no longer valid. I would see if your local Ford dealer can research the VIN for you. Even without max tow, you are technically good to 9500# but there will probably be a payload issue whether it has max tow or not.

Yeah, sorry about that. Ford did take it down. Please do as glc states.

You do most likely have max tow. Again, be mindful of the max payload capacity. I assume it has a factory brake controller?

yes it has the factory trailer brakecontroller , 3.73 axle and the 3.5 twin turbo . i will be purchasing a class IV 10,000 lb ball hitch with 1000lb tongue weight , I will only be pulling a small skid steer ( 9200lbs) with trailer about 10 miles to my house and back . This will be a one time deal to avoid the $250 delivery charge

Normally, no matter what rating the drawbar is, you would need a weight distribution hitch for that weight. For only 10 miles, you probably could get away without it. However, if you plan on getting a RV or something over 5000# to tow frequently, I'd get the WD rig now.

I will be towing on straight road no real hills and can drive 45mph the skid steer and trailer are not that large and it is the smallest built with tracks .I was told that when ever you get over 5k and 20+ ft of lenght you need a WD hitch .

Just rechecked the the size of the equipment ROC 700-1200 lb
  • Towing: 5245 lbs combined weight (machine & trailer)

That should not be a problem without WD. It's close enough to 5k. Just be mindful of balancing out the tongue weight, ideal is 12% of the trailer gross.
