repair manuals

have to purchase a repair manual for my 2012 fx4 anyone have insights as to which brand is better, Haynes vs Chilton? have used Haynes manuals in the past, just discovered the other choice. Thanks

Why don't you buy a factory service manual on a CD?

I have definitely purchased my last Haynes (or heinous) Just useless. They owned or purchased Chiltons. Might be OK for the tinkerer. Lots of great info on YouTube if you don't mind sifting through the doofuses.

Thanks. I've always purchased Haynes manuals for my vehs.. and between that and Youtube, when that became available, was able to do most of the work on my vehs. also, joining a forum like this helps. :)

Hayes and Chiltons manuals are both full of errors and omissions. Buy a set of factory manuals. End of story. Some questions are answered on Youtube but not everything. You also sometimes times you helpful things that the manuals don't so use both.

That link only covers 2009-2011. The OP has a 2012 and the thread is 4 months old. My link covers 2012.
