Electronic brake control

I have a 2011 xlt 4x4. I just bought a camper and was wondering about EBC. What would be my best option for pulling a 5k lb camper?

I have a Tekonsha P3. I love it.

I have more faith in it than those factory installed controllers. Plus you can move it between vehicles.

The factory brake controller.

Amazon Amazon

Requires a dealer PCM flash or FORScan to enable it. Also requires the factory 7 pin harness, as would an aftermarket controller.

Factory controller integrates with the stability control, provides antisway. Aftermarket controllers do not do this.

Factory trailer brake controller is the only way to go! I installed one and the 7-pin harness/plug on my truck a couple weeks ago. Parts were about $300 from Amazon and took a couple of hours of labor.
