2010 F150 5.4 with pre 08 plugs?
Hi all, got a mystery I'm trying to get to the bottom of.
Last year I bought a used 2010 XL F150 5.4l V8 w/ 180k miles. Truck just rolled over 200k and has been stumbling, I was planing on replacing plugs. I pulled a plug today and found its a 2 piece (old style) plug. Specifically, Motorcraft PZH-14F. At this point I'm assuming the motors been swapped with an older 5.4, but as I'm digging around online I found some references to coils. My coils are 8L3E, brown boot, which are the 09+ coils. I guess what I'm getting at, what parts do I need to start checking to see if this is a head swap/ long block swap/ junk yard motor swap? And how compatible is everything? (apparently, very, as I've been driving this truck the past few months with no issues). Is there anything I should just replace off the cuff by assuming this is an older motor?
One major concern of mine, I specifically bought the 2010 for the updated cam phasers and now I'm expecting to start experiencing that issue in the near future.

I have a 2010 and I don't think they update the cam phasers. Mine start to sound at about 100,000 miles and at 150,000 miles a valve broke. I installed an expedition 2011 motor an is running fine. AS I had a 2004 and a 2010, the main differences easy to found it's the air filter an intake plastics, those are different. are your like 2010 or earlier?
