Vent To Atmosphere Best 2 bucks i have spent

May not be for everyone but if you don't like it, it takes 5 minutes to put back to stock.

What was the thought process behind that? You don't have a turbo or SC right?

I did that a few months ago, got tired of hearing that annoying valve popping off. Returned it to stock.

Yea, i doubt i will keep it but haven't got tired of it yet (keyword)

Funny thing about it is i have provoked 2 races since yesterday just letting them blowoff. Before i had a hard time getting anyone to play, as soon as they heard the turbo's they would back off

Exactly what is the rubber covering? I just looked at my EB and couldn't feel anything to attach it to.

You take off this piece at the bottom of the intake (where i capped off with the rubber piece)

Then get under the front of the truck and undo 3 of the finger screws to access the bottom of the intercooler, pull that back and you will see the bottom of this pipe. Just turn the ends about a half a turn to the left to get it off

Remove the pipe completely then? Please forgive my ignorance, but exactly what is the "function" of that pipe and is there any danger to the engine and/or turbos by removing it?

I'm wondering the same thing. Also, does it just make the turbos louder?

Coy, did you end up leaving those vortex things out of the intake tubes? I put mine back in.

Yes remove the pipe completly and only plug the end under the intake, like my pic shows. All its for is to hear the blow off valves, with the pipe it recirulates through the intake so you don't hear the noise. I did a little research and many people said VTA will also get rid of some of the moisture that builds up in the intercooler.

Not sure how much truth there is to that but would make sense.

Yes, the silencers are still out. So far i have taken the Diaper off, the silencers out and did the VTA. Truck is still alive and kicking.

Just started running the 93 MPT tune also and that really wakes the truck up, i thought the 91 did a great job. This 93 Perf tune flat out screams

With the pipe removed, is there any concern for water getting into the intercooler or am I just confused about where the bottom of the pipe is?

From what I remember the 11-12 trucks use a different layout for the diverter valves/recirc circuit. If you have one of them it will be a little bit different.

The reason for the diverter valves is to prevent compressor surge when you lift off the throttle. There is an amount of compressed air between the compressor wheel on the turbo and the butterfly valve. When you let off the throttle the butterfly valve closes and basically plugs up this pipe. This pressurized air has to go somewhere so it either backs up into the turbo and can cause compressor surge, it can be dumped into the atmosphere or it can be piped away from the butterfly valve and back to the turbo inlet side. The third option is the most efficient since it's using air that's already in the system but number 2 sounds cooler.
