So we have been having the same issues with our 2013 f150 truck. At 11,000 miles the problem started and it was months of going to the dealer and everytime they would come up with something else wrong that ended up not fixing the problem. Finally with 13,000 miles on it the said the steering rack was the problem and they fixed it under warrenty. no problems until sept 2017 when the problem started all over again! service advance trac light, hill decent light, and turn signal not working? now with 48,000 miles, the dealership said "it couldn't be the steering rack again", so we have replaced every sensor again! and now they just informed me that the steering rack needs replaced again? I'm beyond frustrated, ford has been called and everyone is being helpful but why does this keep happening? Why can't they just admit that they don't know what the problem really is?

Question C116A code

All, I have a 2013 ford f150 with 82,565 miles on it. I just had my power brake booster and fuel pump replaced at pep boys earlier this week, ( my brake pedal would not compress and could not start my truck , as a result i had it towed to pep boys that was less than 2 miles away) so not even an hour after i pulled out of Pep Boys after the repair my 'Service Advance Trac" warning light came up. I brought it back to a different Pep Boys closer to my job and they said ther was a "Un-identified warning code" Code number "C116A"

does anyone know what that is ? and the process to fix it?

Advancetrac light on .. no power.. CRYSTAL!!!! HELP!

2012 f150 fx4 5.0 94k miles..
Purchased from local dealer (Leith Jeep on Captial blvd in Raleigh NC....not ford) 2 weeks ago...
Started it this afternoon.. no power,... sluggish
Took it by the dealer and they kind of gave me the lecture about "well, kind of chance you take when you buy a used vehicle with high miles"
That pissed me off. If you are selling vehicles in that bad of shape.. why?
Was told it was one of the guys that works there.. his old truck. He had a kid and needed more room so bought a jeep cherokee.
ANyways... suppose to take it back by tomorrow .. said they would look at it.. aint guranteeing nothing.
Also... drivers side heated seat doesnt work which was also brought to thier attention.
FIngers crossed...

His lecture is right. Unless they give you a well rounded warranty, you are on the hook. They sold it as-is.

I'd give the same lecture if I sold someone the same thing as-is and the buyer came back saying I sold them junk.

I've gotten burned before. Now before I buy anything used, I get it appraised and inspected by at least 2 independent mechanics. I got one that charges $75 and one that charges $100. At the end of the day, for $175, that is my insurance. If the dealer or individual doesn't like it -- then you know it's fishy or JUNK.

Did find out there were cleared DTC's before I bought it which seemed real fishy. The sales rep said "We dont want any bad press... you have any problems within 30 days, bring it back and we'll take care of it. This truck was one of our guys here"

Yesterday when backing out of my driveway I got the "Service Advance Track" warning. I pressed the OK button and continued to drive because I had an appointment and it said service, not "Warning".
Several miles up the highway and I get a brake warning, saying that I need to service my brakes immediately. I just had all brakes and rotors replaced 2 months ago.
This is a 2014 supercab with 48,000 miles on it. I am retired and only drive it two days a week. I am not hard on my truck.
I have an appointment on tuesday to have this looked at, but am not looking forward to a $1400.00 repair bill.
Can anyone recommend help. Ford?

Thanks, Robert

I have a 2011 Supercab that was giving me Brake Warning usually after a few miles of open road driving. Two trips to the local Ford dealer with no results, (could not duplicate the problem). Was at a dealer in OH while on vacation and mentioned what was happening (didn't have time to have it looked at). Was told to have my dealer replace the vacuum sensor on the power brake booster. That cured the problem!
I was at the OH dealer for a fuel gauge issue of suddenly dropping and Miles to Empty going down rapidly. This also could not be duplicated at my local dealer. Was told to have my dealer check the instrument cluster, That was the problem with that issue!

Not sure where to message you,but my 2012 Ford F-150 was to the shop several times for the traction control light would come on when I would step on the throttle but everytime it would go into the garage they would tell me they can’t get it to mimic the problem and there was nothing wrong, now I’m at 85,000 miles and yesterday I used my 4 low 4x4 and it wouldn’t go,it seemed like the traction control kicked in and wouldn’t allow me to throttle through the terrain I was on. I really feel that there is definitely something wrong with it and know I have to pay for the repairs,it is documented of the problems with the Advancetrac Service on file.

The Ford reps haven't been here in well over a year. I don't think they care about forums any more.

Diagnosis is that they incorrectly identified the SCCM as the issue last time, and the steering rack requires replacement based on the above codes.
Same problem with my 2012 w/75K miles, including having to hold the signal lights stalk. Since the repair everything is A-OK!

I have the same issues as everyone else with my 2011 f150 97,00 miles 2nd owner. Advancetrac service message, improper turn signal operation, no steering assist and message stating truck is limited to 80mph plus acceleration is not the same as it was when I purchased it a year ago. When is Ford going to address this issue?

Considering that Ford has been selling a new generation of trucks for over 5 years, I would say NEVER.

Advancetrac Needs Service

Sharing what I learned as it pertains to my problem of the message ADVANCETRAC needs service, no POWER STREERING ASSIST, and TURN SIGNALS not working properly: My problem was solved when I replaced the fuse located right at the postive battery terminal. All is working now as it should be. The fuse can be had at the Ford dealership for $40 or a tad cheaper at auto parts store. I learn something I share it's as simple as that. I hope this can help someone else that has the same issues.
