well i got the grill guard on and the muffler cut this week, will post pics later. if anyone is thinking of cutting the muffler off, DO IT! it sounds perfect for me, nearly no cab drone at all and a throaty rumble when you want it

Looks great I'm looking at getting the same tires for my 11 Fx4. When u cut the muffler did u cut the resonator too? I've been wanting to chop the exhaust so bad since I got my truck this past may but I know if I cut it I will never put a cat back out the back corners like I want to Lol. I know this cause its happened to my previous 3 trucks Lol.

i have the 5.0l and i took mine and got it straight piped with y pipe from just behind the resonator and it sounds amazing, extremely deep and absolutely no whining or popping IMO the 6 speed trans keeps from gettin to the super whiney high rpms.

So you left the resonator and cut out the muffler? Sounds like a plan to me

I beg to differ even in stock form 5.0 you get on the gas and it will rev out to 5 to 6 grand before shifting. My buddy has a tuner on his and wouldn't shift until about 7 but onto the exhaust the 5.0 does sound good straight piped even without a resonator.
