2013 5.0 stalling
Did a quick search and didn't find anything.
Anybody else have an issue with stalling on a '13 F150 5.0? The other day as I came to a stop at a light, it just died. Started back up with no problem and has not done it again since. Fuel tank was over 1/2. It was raining that day and my stop was a little harder than usual, not out of control, just a little harder. |
Not heard of anything like that.

Maybe it wasn't warmed up and didn't shift down. Hope not again.

How fast were you going and what gear were you in before you hit the brakes? From the sounds of it I would think the torque converter did not unlock and this stalled the motor. I would keep an eye on it and if it happens again take it back to the dealer and let them worry about it.

I believe there is a solenoid valve that unlocks the torque convertor. If it fails U should have a code. PT1740 area.

U might be able to read the code with a HEC test. DTC's are listed as U navigate the test, either running or quiet.

A fix...
Found on another forum: After another round with the little black box and some calls to Ford, my dealer replaced my torque converter solenoid. It's been about a month with it and have not experienced the shutter I described at the beginning of this thread. May be something to consider for others. |
Thanks.

I had something similar happen to me on the way home last night.
Did replacing the torque converter silonoid fix the stalling issues? |
