Ecoboost safety features- limp mode, etc

What engine parameters are monitored by the pcm for the ecoboost engine? Tranny temp, coolant, etc?

What about EGT's? I tow quite often and would like to know if the EGT is monitored. If not who makes and aftermarket gauge and probe for the ecoboost?

there are not many things monitored which are displayed in the message center and or gauges..

I have a EDGE CTS, which ive updated and was once in my 09 5.4
I think true coolant temp, tranny temp, and Head temp are good things to watch. there are other things like boost also you can monitor. you can set thresh holds also and get an alert when reached.

I can tell you I have had the head temp climb by 15 degrees, long before the coolant temp moved at all under towing conditions however it was still safe..

ill look up a few more of the PID's that I can pickup with the latest update from EDGE. and re-post

If you have a smart phone you can get the Torque app from andriod market for $4.99. Then all you need is a blue tooth adapter that plugs in under the dash for around $20.00 either from Ebay or Amazon.com. I have it and it works great!

Monitored. I tow heavy and mainly was wondering if I get it too hot - EGT, coolant, tranny fluid, etc will it tell me or just burn up.

can you provide more details and pics???

Does it show boost levels along with the temps?

Do you use it when towing?

I clicked on your link... I would think it would be nice to set it up with boost and all the temps so you can watch while towing in the hills to make sure nothing is getting too hot. Might be worth the 25 bucks to know if you are having a problem and pull over before something goes wrong

Perty much several pages of different things. If U purchase a Code reader that reads in real time and plug it in U will get an education and have some fun navigating all the live running graphs and such that it can provide while U drive around enjoying the truck. After a while U can save the info to look at sometime in the future when U have a problem with UR truck.
