Goodyear Silent Armor or BFG All Terrains....

Any advice/ experience with these?

My Goodyear SRA's are just about worn out at 40,000 miles. I really like the look of the Silent Armors and the BFGs.

Thanks!
Jason

Cool, will check those out too then.

Thanks!

no problem!
most sizes come with a 50,000 mile tread life warranty as well. and they are far cheaper than BFG AT's as well.

check out videos on youtube "falken wildpeak offroad"

they're impressive tires for an all terrain. and insanely smooth+quiet.

I'm on my 3rd set of silent armor's. Two sets on my 2004 and the first thing I did to my 2012 was change the tires to them. I have no complaints they have been great. I don't get the 50k out of them but that just means the next set is pro rated and cheaper.

BFG's, love their sidewall and shoulder on the AT KO's.

I have the bfg ko's in my 2011 and I like them. it's my second set cause I had a set on my last truck. but I might go with something like the nitro terra grappler or toyo open country AT for my next set.

I bought 8 sets of those Silent Armor GYs a few years ago for our delivery and sales trucks. We had major balance issues with them, almost none of them would balance properly and several were warrantied for balance issues. They sounded great on paper, so I thought I would give them a try. The only Goodyear truck tire that I would recomend to anyone is the AT/S that Ford uses as an OE tire. I had pretty good luck with those. The ATKO BFG is a good tire but over priced IMO. I have owned many sets of the ATKOs for my personal vehichles, I know they are good tires, but I mainly bought them for their looks.

I like the looks of the new BFG Rugged terrain as well, they are not quite as expensive as the ATKO.

I've got 40k miles on my silent armors. Had them road force balanced a year after purchasing them and they've been very smooth. Excellent snow tire as well (they are snowflake endorsed). Much better on ice and snow than my Michelin MS2 but not as quiet or smooth but this is expected since the silent armor is an A/T. I like them enough to buy them again but I won't hesitate to shop the Toyo AT2, Grabber AT2. Deep down I'd like duratracs but they are very expensive.

Goodyear Duratracs FTW :rocker:

My vote is for Michelin AT2's. They last forever and get good fuel mileage.

I use the Goodyears as winter tires. No worries. Decent tires but hard to balance.

Also have SRA's as summer tires lol.

Great minds and all that.

I love my BFG All-Terrain KOs. I've had the same set on my Silverado for six years and put about 45K on them without any problems with regular (every 5K) rotations and ironically mostly city driving -- and they're still have good tread. My only complaint is that they're horrible in the rain but other than that I think you can't beat BFGoodrich or Michelin. They're definitely worth the money. My dad puts Michelin LTX A/Ts on his 09 Lariat because he likes the smoother ride and those are great as well. I think I will get the new BFGoodrich Rugged Terrain T/As next time around just to try them as they have a pretty aggressive looking tread but ride better.

Another vote for the LTX AT/2's. Had a set of the LTX m/s *I think* go 125,000 miles on a dually hauling heavy. Sam's or Costco used to have deals on them, but that was back around 2008 when I bought those.
