the dang thing just keeps driving past all the gas stations but im so thirsty and i need a coke !!!

is there a fix for this problem ?

I think if you install a heavier foot on the driver it might help a bit.

 

^ It'll help a ton. I'm at 13.6 mpg on this last tank keeping up wiuth the flow of traffic and a few romps.

Trade for a Super Duty 6.4L diesel.

Then hook 9k lbs of fifth wheel behind it.

You won't have an issue getting thirsty or your bladder busting. Trust me...


(in all honesty, 10 mpg really isn't that bad when you've got nearly 18k lbs. rolling down the highway, but I do wish my fuel tank was larger)

 

I hear ya, gr8hntr! I have the lowly 5.0, and have still managed to squeeze out a current average of about 18 mpg of mixed driving. The old truck...well...she didn't do so well in the fuel economy area.

I got a little over 20 mpg on a 500+ mile, all interstate jag from Knoxville to Cincinnati and back.

The better gas mileage and larger fuel tank have really decreased the stops to my usual station. In fact, the last time I was there the shop-keep said, 'Whur ye been, son? I thawt ye dun got kilt er sumptin!'

 

I think you need a restrictor plate on your coke to reduce the flow and make it last longer.

My boss is the type of feller who has to have THE BEST of everything that there is out there. At least, that's what he thinks.

He got a new Silverado Z71 a few months before I got the new truck, and he went on and on about how much better gas mileage he gets in the Z71 than his '08 FX4. It absolutely KILLS him when I tell him my lowly F150 gets better gas mileage than his Z71 and doesn't even have to shut down 4 cylinders to do it!

 

 

I have had a similar problem with my 5.0 and I know that with the EB, your problem is even gr8er, but my solution has been to convert my canaverous console that my wilfe calls a "man cave" into a cooler. I ran a duct from the air conditioning to the console and it keeps the drinks at 45 degrees. If I need to take a leak, I have an empty gallon water jug in the front floor. Well, empty part of the time. That way, I never have to stop for fuel, drinks or leaks and that assists me in getting even better mileage.
