Cheapest radar detector is take your foot out of the gas and obey the posted speed limits....

Other than that I use an escort and love it.....

There are a few top radar detectors currently. My recommendations are the following.. Not in any order.

Whistler XTR-695SE

Whistler PRO-78SE

Escort 9500

Valentine 1

Thanks for the help. I am really liking the escort 9500 but I was hoping to spend a little less. Is there that much of a difference between it and the Whistler models you mentioned?

The new Whistlers that I posted are very comparable in performance to both the Escort 9500 and V1. There is tons of information out there on the net with reviews of them all even back to back information and tests.

I have the Escort 8500 X50 (blue) mounted on a Blendmount. I also have a Smartcord connected to it, hard wired and mounted next to my cigg lighter.

It's nice because I can turn off the display on the detector at night, no lights or alarm and use the smart cord as my display which lights up.

I have one of the original Valentine 1's (with all of the latest factory updates) and I still swear by it.

So which fuse (in the fuse panel) is everyone tapping into for hard-wiring their radar detectors?
