Ecoboost wouldn't accel. today

Long story short today turning onto the highway from about 15 mph I went to accelerate quickly and after the downshift the truck just kinda lugged along for a few seconds. I let off the gas and accelerated slowly and everything worked fine. Another hour into the drive after trying to replicate the problem with no luck it happened again. This time I was trying to pass from 50 mph, right after the down shift same thing just kinda lugged along with no further acceleration. A few seconds later it picked up and all was fine from then on out. Dealer said it might be a computer memory issue, whatever that means. They offered me a free rental and said they would look at it first thing in the morning. The truck is a 2011 FX4 EB w/ 9k miles. Anyone else have anything like this happening?

Nope, mine runs like a banshee.............

I had that same thing happen. Once. But mine is a 3.7 V6. I'm pretty sure that it's a PCM issue. I've since loaded tunes from 5Star. Hasn't happened again.

Have the dealer check it out. They should be able to easily fix it.

Good to hear I'm not the first one. I have a rental but hopefully they don't keep the truck too long. If I wanted to drive a Chevy Malibu I wouldn't have bought an F150, silly rentals.

FX,
Google, Ecoboost knocking/bogging problem

There are many discussions about this on other websites. I don't have time to read through them all this morning, so I am unsure if a fix has been found.

I wonder if that's the same issue.... TSB 12-2-10 (intermittent surging)
Let us know what the dealer done to fix it

Around Christmas time mine did that, then the PCM relay fried, there is an update/reprogram from ford that has to do with that, they did the reprogram and it seems to have fixed it, they are putting new catalytic converters on it this week, so ford is aware there is a fix and you should be good to go.

Makes me wonder if this TSB is related to the hold up on ramp 59?
