Bilstein Level Lift Question

I'm having the Bilstein 5100 Leveling shocks installed tomorrow on my 2011 F150 XLT 4x4. My question is for those of you that have them, should I have them installed at the 2" max height or back it off one ring to the 1.75" height. While I would like it to be perfectly level it is more important to me that it still rides nice. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

I have the Bilsteins on my 2010 FX4. The difference in height your asking about will have no effect on ride quality. The difference will be whether you want a rake or not. To me it is more controlled than the factory shocks.

If you regularly load up the bed you might want a small rake, otherwise 2" will get you dead even. Mine is at 2" with Raptor wheels and tires. It does sag of course when the bed is loaded up.

People are reporting that the 1.5" setting is actually providing 1.75" of lift on newer 4x4 models. Since the trucks come from the factory with about 2" of rake, this setting will get you closest to level. The highest 2.5" setting will give you too much lift in the front unless you plan on also adding a +1" block in the rear. Stick with the 1.5" setting or lower and let us know how it turns out.

Well I had my Bilsteins installed today at the 1.5" setting and the trucks sits within a 1/4" of being perfectly level. My initial impression is the ride is slightly firmer, but like I've read on here, it is firmer in a good way! I have to say so far I'm very happy with my decision. I can finally stop reading about leveling options!

Next up wheels....
