soundclip is on youtube- go search for it. It sounds like a diesel with the turbo whistle. I don't care if it whistles or not I just want to know if it really gets 38 extra hp

it's a little odd that the dyno graph before/after is almost exactly the same curve, just more power. typically you'll find more gains down low/mid or top end...that part doesn't sit right, but who knows.

i was looking at the dyno for the Gibson that i picked up and it's as expected, some spots with smaller gains, some with higher gains. their with about 20hp at peak, so the larger 4" piping here could easily be the difference of 8hp i'd imagine.

Has anybody been using this heartthrob single kit for a while now? I'm attracted to the performance and exhaust tone differences but I'm really hoping to avoid the in cab drone my old magnaflow di/do had. It was right around 60mph and dealing with that for a few years is making me want to be very picky in my future exhaust choices.

Did you have the Magnaflow on your EB? I have heard the Heartthrob is very loud. There are a ton of videos on youtube with HT, Magnaflow, flowmaster (a bad choice, turbo's need straight though mufflers), etc. There have been quite a few magnaflows in cab videos and you can't really hear it inside, only when gassing it. I was leaning toward them for that reason. I'm actually eye ballin their 24" muffler just to keep it even more quiet and not doing the whole cat back. Just a muffler and new tip.

If the dealers have been beat up by Ford, on warranty claims, they will be going over every vehicle that comes in for service and making notes on any aftermarket parts. I had a kid working for me, that went back to school and got his ASE certification, and went to woork for teh local Ford dealer. They were actually taking pictures of any aftermarket parts on SD diesels that came in for service. These were used in a couple of cases to refuse warranty, even though trucks came in "stock" for warranty service. I believe one is still in court.

Not sure if I buy the claim the rwhp until we see a back to back by a reputable tuner like VMP Tuning.

As far as returning it to stock if it's broken down on the road. If you are really that worried than you'll have it towed home, replace the exhaust, and have it towed to the dealer. A couple hundred in tow bills is probably better than a couple thousand in engine repairs.

To think that Ford would void a warranty for a cat back exhaust is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. I can understand voiding it for changing the programming of the ECU, but intake/exhaust should be free game. I wouldn't be surprised if Ford releases and intake/exhaust combo through SVT and makes you buy that for a huge markup and will only warranty their stuff.

Not sure what graph you looked at? They peak around 4800- 5200RPM, very typical for a full throttle run. The computer would never let the engine go 8000RPM.
