i know my truck is 25mph in 2w high, 25 in 4high, and who knows in 4 low, not about to blow my truck up to find out...one 2010's say 45 mph in 4 high but i think that is a false statement, i can't see gaining that much.. no ones else with a 2010 has mentioned 45 mph... buy the parts and find out, or don't do it.. i don't know what to tell you

I did the mod purely just to be able to lock it in 2wd. That way, for the most part I could just lock the rear to get traction to get going instead of having to engage 4x4, such as on a slippery boat ramp or mildly muddy terrain. There's got to be a reason ford didn't allow our fx4's to drive at 100mph with a locked rear, just sounds like something will break. But for the guys who do want to good luck, and be sure to let us know how it goes.

i think they just do that so they can get another 40K+ for a more "advanced" offroad package transmission wise

Unhappy E-Locker mod not working

I've been following this thread and decided to go ahead and try it. I have a 2011 fx4 5.0 Ordered up the parts from tasca ! I first installed the switch with the old (tccm) switch works on 4 high, and 4 low, but does not lock the E-locker in 2 high. this is correct. then I installed the new (tccm) a bit of a pain, small space, but installed. i go to turn on 4x4 and nothing !!! no lock, no 4x4 nothing works at all... re-installed old (tccm) 4x4 works again <weird> parts are correct, double checked even ordered more just incase they were the wrong ones.... what could the problem be...

I dont think I read anywhere where anyone actually tried it in a 11, just talked about if it would work. I guess you just found out. It's weird that your 4x4 would not work at all, almost like the tccm wasnt plugged in at all. Do you get any 4x4 or locker indicators on your dash? And you can hear the e-locker activate.

Today I got a chance to look at my truck again. I double checked the new parts to my old ones, turns out new parts had a bad connector. A little minor adjustment and she works great !!!!!! I'll confirm it works on 2011 as well...

Have a question on this. For 2010 Ford calls the part TM-233 but for 2011 they call it TM-239. Does anyone know if they truly are the same part for the control modual?

I know TM-233 refers to the part AL3Z-7E453-DC and TM-239 refers to BL3Z7E453D, same price and description except for year. For 2011 FX4s should we be using the new component instead?

thats a hard call to make, i know the old part number worked for everybody but its kinda hard to guess. the 2011 might require the newer tccm but hopefully its not the awd tccm, i would say call and ask if tm-239 is off of a 2011 raptor

Looks like 2011 transfer case modules go like this -
TM-236 - Manual transfer case
TM-237 - Electronic transfer case Limited slip or Open rear axle
TM-238 - Electronic Locking Rear Axle without SVT, without hill descent control
TM-239 - Electronic Locking Rear Axle with SVT, with hill descent control
TM-240 - 4x4 One speed transfer case (is this an AWD control box?)

Did anyone ever test the hill descent control when in tow / haul mode after this mod? I tow a lot and use this feature and want to make sure it still works especially after this last post about the TM-233 vs. the TM-239.

Thanks!

I ordered the parts tonight, I am looking for a compromise between 4wd and the FX4 open rear diff... I one wheeled quite a bit in the last snow storm. I wish the FX4 was a posi and locker...

Okay, HELP!

I copied and pasted the part #'s from this first post. The switch in the package says 2H AWD and 4H... What gives?

Nevermind, I think it was bagged wrong at the factory. The bag says
AL3Z*14B166-AA

There is a little sticker on the switch itself:
AL3T*7Z155-AAW

made in Mexico...
