Rancho 4" lift and backspacing
Hey guys, is anyone using the 4" Rancho lift on their 09 or newer ,with wheels
that have more than 4.5 in. backspace recommended by Rancho. I called
Rancho, they said the kit was tested with 18 in. wheels w/ 4.5. b.s. and if i used any thing else, it was on me. Sorry if this has been addressed allready,
I couldn't find anything for 09 +. Thanks for your help.

does their lift for the 09-11's not allow stock wheels?
what are the specs on the wheels you chose? 4.75 backspacing is far different than 6 backspacing.
if you buy the rims from a tire shop locally they will test fit them before you buy.
edit: their site says use with stock wheel which i highly doubt have 4.5" backspacing, do a search and stock wheel specs should pop up

I just went thru the same thing on my 11'. I was gonna go with a different BS than Rancho says to use. I could not find a local shop to test fit a wheel for me, so I just opted with the one Rancho says to use. Your gonna love the lift, its awesome! Good luck with the wheels and please post what setup you go with.

How far do the wheels stick out?

On a 9" wheel that's -12mm offset. I have same setup with the same wheels but with +18mm offset and they fit great as well. Although, in hindsight, seeing the stance on yours if I were to do it again I would think long and hard about the -12mm offset. I like the look a lot! It's just a bit more aggressive with the tires sticking out more. The only negative might be getting hassled by cops and keeping the sides of the truck clean.

4thf150 I was wondering what size tires and rims you went with. Im looking at adding a 4" rough country lift on my 2011 screw fx4. Trying to get a good idea on what size tire/rim set up I will be needing. I'm adding 1.5 bushwhacker flares and I'd want the tires to the edge or flare or possibly a little farther out. Hopefully minimum or no trimming will be needed though...

I went with the exact specs Rancho says to use. I used 35/12.50/18's and 9" wheels. I went back and forth but ended up doing what Rancho said to, I am really happy with the way it looks and rides. Good luck and post some pics when yours is done! I know that there are some backspacing issues with certain lifts and what size rims to use. I found alot of the info here, my wife began to think I was having an online affair!

Ive got the rancho on my 2010 and use a 20x9 with either -18mm or -12mm backspacing and 325/65/20 tires. a good bit more than what rancho recommends, and it works just fine after a little air dam trimming. I do get some bad rubbing on the back of the front fender flares, but they very rarely rip completely off lol.
