2010 w/ brake squeal

The brakes on my 2010 squeal first thing if the truck's been sitting overnight. Basically, I have my foot on the brakes when I'm pulling out of my driveway and I can clearly hear it. It goes away by the time I've gotten out of my neighborhood. I took it to my dealer and he says it's the brake pads taking a layer of rust off that formed overnight. I've never had another vehicle that did that and it's a little hard to buy. The dealer "de-glazed" the brakes while it was in for service, but the squeal came back the first week. Anyone have any insight into this?

Doubt they would rust up that much over night unless is was raining out, but even then. How many miles you got? Have them take the pads off and spray some disk brake quiet on the calipers and back of the pads. I have an 2010 as well and it squeaks sometimes if I let the truck sit for a couple days but only while backing down the driveway.

My '10 XLT sits in my driveway for 2 weeks without being driven and I've never experienced any brake squeal.

I have just under 20k miles. I don't remember actually when it started though.

I took delivery of my XLT, Feb 2, 2010. About 8,500 miles so far.

This vehicle has the best brakes of any vehicle I've owned. No squealing tho.

I have that same exact deal here in FL. 2010 xlt screw with 19,000 mi.

My 2010 FX2 has been doing it too, but its not my brakes. It does it when I'm not even pushing the brake. It mostly does it when its cold in the morning, but has done other times after its had time to warm up. I'm gonna take it to the dealer soon, I only have 500 miles on it, just haven't had any time to do it.

Any chance you've had your dealer take a look at it?

Suppose I could. It'll have to wait until next weekend though.

I have a 2010 Screw. Mine do squeel and make a lower "oooooh" sound too. BUT I think I figured out what it is... I noticed the breaks get covered in light surface corrosion very quickly. Because the brake pads are harder, the harder brake pads rubbing against the hard, now corrosion covered rotors, tend to make noise until the surface "rust" is removed from breaking. That's what I think it is.

Ford has always had bad brake pads. I wonder if swapping them out would help

Mine makes the noise if it rains or really foggy ect overnight. I don't think it's a problem.

X2,no squealing for me at all and the brakes are alot better than the 2007 F-150 i had.I have a 2010 now with a little over 2,500 miles on it and very little brake dust when i wash it.

Later Mark.

I wouldn't say that they are necessarily "bad" but my Centric ceramics are smooth and quiet and are wearing like iron.
