Since the 2011 trucks won't come out till December

Maybe they won't call them 11's they may just call them 2012's.. Just a thought...

That would make no sense to me.

I must be missing something here - this December it is still year 2010.....

The 5.0, 3.7 and 6.2 are 2011's. Ford is calling the ecoboost 2011 1/2. I have saw that printed on several ecoboosts

I seriously doubt Ford would go down in history as not releasing a 2011 model year... it would screw up all of their best selling records! We were the best seller every year except 2011 when we didn't build a single truck.

2011s are being shipped right now. Mine is supposed to be built tomorrow.

There are actually laws on model years, and there will most certainly be a 2011 F-150 model year.

2 posts in and this is what you decide to start a thread about?......where do these people come from.....

MY 2012 cannot be given on automobiles manufactured prior to January 2011. Since manufacturing is happening now, there are 2011 models.

Sales are based on calendar year/month, not model year/month.

My build day is Monday! Can't wait.

A model year cannot be ON SALE for more than one January 1. It doesn't matter what date it was produced, only the date it is on sale. Reference the '99 Super Duty trucks. They were on sale in very early January '97. I'm thinking there was no '98 model Super Duty...anyone know for sure?

So, if the F150's are not released for sale until after January 1, they could, technically, be called '12 models. However, they won't be called '12 models...they will be '11s.

Oh, and the sales leadership goes on calendar year and not model year.

ford did this when the 2003 thunderbirds were to come out. they had an issue with the transmission, and the 2003 thunderbird didnt hit the show rooms until after thanksgiving... they made more of the 2002 and less of the 2003, but they were still called 2003.

Seems to me the 09 F-150's were pretty late too.

I came over from the super duties, I've been running powerstokes for years but am going back to 1/2 ton trucks. Like I stated just a thought but not totally impossible about calling them 12's.............
