Should Power Sunroof fully open w/one push of the button?

I've had the truck just over 3 months now and used the roof every day but didn't realize that when I push and release the open button that the roof actually isn't fully open. When I push the button a 2nd time the roof will retract another 2" into the full open position.

Is this how its engineered to function?

Yep.

My bad - it isn't in the manual for some reason ( was in previous MY's).

Yes, for some reason they designed it that way. My 06 did the same thing. The dealer stated it was in owners manual. It was in my 06's book but not in the 09's. Express open only went so far then you have to open it the last bit.

supposed to act that. something about wind buffeting at hiway speeds.

Smokewagun 10-23-2010 01:35 PM

Buffeting is the reason. If you open it all the way, the built-in wind deflector will no longer work as it should and the wind getting in at the rear of the fully open moonroof will produce alot of noise and wind in the vehicle.

Smoke,
That makes sense and all but I honestly find there is a heck of alot of wind and noise even if the roof is only half open. Theres gotta be a better way to buffer that.

The only way I have found is to crack open the rear slider. Then, your hair won't get messed up as much! :D

Yea, I can't have the roof open without the rear slider open the wind sound is way too loud other wise.
