A/c
The a/c system in the 04-08 was inadequate compared to the previous generation (97-03). I was hoping the 09-10 was improved even though I didn't see anything in the new for 09 info. about it- guess it's still the same system.
I think the evaporator is too small myself.

I suspect the tuxedo black color magnifies the problem.

I agree. My 8 year old 2002 F150 will freeze you out of the cab if you leave it on high for longer than 15 minutes.

Has anyone put a vacuum-operated coolant valve in the hose to the heater core to improve hot weather A/C performance. The A/C in my new truck is average at best where my 2003 Super Duty always gets the air so cold that you have to direct it away from your left hand to keep it from getting too cold. The Super Duty has a vacuum-operated valve to shut off coolant flow to the heater core when you have the A/C set to Max. I would like to try this; but, being old and lazy, I have no objection to copying someone who already did this and can recommend a part# and especially where to connect the vacuum line to close the valve when Max A/C is selected. Thanks in advance for any replies.
Max A/C cools the interior more efficiently because it recirculates the cooled interior air instead of pulling in the hot outside air. High humidity will also make cooling more difficult because the condenser can't give up it's heat to the outside air as effectively.
