Talk about night and day power over my 07 with the 4.6

Anyways

Does anyone else have the 09 with the new 4.6?

If so, is your engine as noisy as mine?

All I hear when I am touring around or when its idleing is TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK

Took it to the dealer and they told me it was the injectors and that they are all like that?

What a pain in thr *SS that is

Having a new truck with a ticking motor

The only thing the mechanic recommended was to get a loud exhaust system haha

IDK I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this and what they think

I have a 5.4l in my 09 F150 but my 07 Mustang GT with 4.6l 3v engine has alot of ticking and it is from the injectors. Not much you can do about it i guess?

 

I wonder if some aftermarket injectors would solve the problem?

 

I thought it sounded quiet compared to my 98 5.4. You can hear the injectors, but nothing like a diesel engine.

 

I've had several of the 4.6L 3V engines in Mustangs and they do tend to be noisy...IIRC, though, there were a few that had camshaft tensioner issues which would cause the cam chain to be noiser than usual...probably not an issue any more but thought I'd mention it. Have a friend who works for a Ford dealer and his 2007 Mustang GT/CS was making the cam chain tensioner noise and they replaced it under warranty.

 

3Vs are noisy engines. Some worse than others. Just the nature of the beast.

 

I have to admit, my 2007 5.4 3v runs very quiet, even at cold starts winter/summer! I have been running Mobil-1 5w-20 & a MotorCraft filter ever since 39,000 miles ago! I think I am blessed!........
