I'd see a problem dropping a diesel under a F150's hood.
Most people who'd buy it would not know how to use it. People like to turn their vehicles on and off quick. Throw a turbodiesel under the hood of a light duty truck, people would be messing up the engine and what not. Plus, it gives the problem of the 3-5 minute turn off time. No one wants to sit in their truck letting it idle for 3 minutes to let the turbo cool off while they are late for work. Then the cold starting issues associated with diesels. Usually it is good to wait 2 to 3 minutes after starting a diesel to let it idle. Basic fact -- No one likes waiting around. Even though that probably isn't the reason why Ford is not putting the diesel under the hood of the F150, it's just my opinion. :smoke: |
