Been tormented for two years wanting to update my '05 'Stang GT ragtop to a 5.0, but was dismayed at its value now (only 50k km / 30k miles). So, since I love the new F-150s with the 5.0, I bought an XL 5.0 for what it would cost me to move up to a new 'Stang, and I kept the '05 (currently parked for the winter).
Course it's just a reg-cab 8-ft bed work truck, with the 101A package (in Canada you don't get the power windows, etc., but you get a lot of other good stuff, like the Class IV, uprated rad, trans and oil coolers, SelectShift, CD, maplights, Sync, etc.). Also has the locking rear diff (3.55) and the tailgate step. I added a Ford drop in bedliner, side steps, bed stake tiedowns.
This is my fourth F-series (never a Ram or GM), my first being a new '71 F-100 with 240-cube 6 and three on the tree. Raised my 4 kids in a '98 and then 2000 F-150 Supercabs with the 4.2 V6s and 5-speeds.
I love the way this 2013 drives and sounds. Great to be back in a real truck.
