Galpinized - 09 F150 Lifted

My wife and I were up in LA last weekend and went to check out the famous Galpin Ford dealership. I was totally blown away with the GAS (Galpin Auto Sport) showroom. This is one of the nicest shops I've ever seen. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend checking it out. There is something for everyone, hot rods, trucks, luxury cars, parts - you name it. They had super charged engines, custom wheels, headers, exhaust systems, accessories literally lining the walls. They also have a car collection with all kinds of cool cars (and some not so cool).

Those of you not from So-cal, Galpin is famous for making "Galpinized" vehicles which are dressed up and modified new Mustangs and trucks.

When we pulled in they had parked out front two lifted 09 F150's. This was the first time I've seen a lifted 2wd 09. Both trucks had 35's with Pro Comp coil over systems. We wanted to go test drive the FX4 but it was getting dark and we had to get to the airport. Anyway, just thought I'd share some pics. If you're into hot rodding and custom trucks, check out the Galpin showroom next time you are in the area.

Although Galpin has some nice looking cars and trucks they are a terrible dealership. I know people who have first hand experience with their work and they are not happy. Another problem is their tactics. These guys will put a used car salesman to shame. I continually amazes me that they are the biggest Ford dealership out there but I think a lot of it has to do with their location. So many millions of people in such a small radius.

As said above, they do have some very nice looking final products but that's just the outside appearance.

Ya, they use to do the Pimp my Ride show. We went and looked around the side of the building and there is a big shop area that used to be the set for the show. It totally agree the FX4 looks sick with the blacked out 20's. I'm curious to see if anyone does something cool for a grill on the 2009 trucks.

One thing I noticed was the black 2wd had a longer bed than the FX4. Both are crew cabs but I guess you can get a longer bed now. It a weird movable step built in ahead of the rear tire. With a nice lift like that, I think it looks cleaner to have no chrome step or bar hanging down. Just go with a set of the AMP motorized steps.

Do they have motorized steps for the 09's as an option? I've always liked those types of running board replacments.

X2. Still nice to see though.

I'd like to see some lowered ones. Most of the lifted ones will never see the off road trail.

I saw some from an auto show someone posted here on the site, they looked very good, much better than I thought.
