09 Owner's Manual w/towing numbers
Saw this on another forum. Here is a link the 2009 owner's manual. Starting on page 248, it has the maximum GCWR and maxium towing numbers for the various motors/cab configurations. Looks like max towing is 11,400 lbs for the 5.4-V8 Heavy Duty Scab model, 11,300 lbs for a 5.4-V8 Screw model.

Wow, those are impressive and HUGE increases for the scab and screw models. Anyone have a comparison of competitors handy?

Too bad they axed the stick shift...
Hopefully it will return on the 2010s.... :( |

Ok. Thanks for the correction.
According to this, the Chevy Silverado 6.0 has a max of 10,500. http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/200...l-economy.html I guess 9300 lbs max towing is for the 6.2 liter Chevy Silverado. See the table on pickuptrucks.com http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/200...-upgraded.html --- Also noted: An optimally configured Dodge Ram (Regular Cab, short box, 4x2, 5.7-liter V8, 3.92 rear axle) won’t tow more than 9,100-lbs. continued... Unlike the 2009 Ford F-150, an integrated trailer brake controller will not be available as an option. Frequent towers will have to make do with an aftermarket kit if they want better control over their trailer’s brakes. Link: http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/aut...dge/page6.html |

http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pub.../09f12og1e.pdf Good find. Edit: Check this out. A 2009 crew cab with a 5.4, 4x4, a 6.5' long bed, and Max Trailer Tow Package can tow 11,100 lbs. The current 5.4 4x4 crew cab 6.5' bed can only tow 5,100 lbs. |
Ummmm  m y 04 Screw is rated to tow 8,800 and if I had the (ugly)17's it would be 9,300.... Not sure where you got your #'s?

No power specs listed but compression is listed on 5.4L @ 9.85:1. Anyone recall what it is on the 04-08 5.4L?
|
Whoops. You're right. That was the Harley package I was looking at.
The 2008 crew cab 4x4 5.4 with 6.5 bed is 9,300 lbs. The 2009 is 11,100 lbs. http://www.fordvehicles.com/trucks/f150/features/specs/ |
Yes 9,300 less 500 lbs if you have 18" or 20" wheels. Which is many of them! I wonder if thats still the case with the 09's.
|
I don't know but the new 7 lug crew cabs will fix that.
