I wonder if that bed step will be able to be added to the 04-08 MY trucks...

Who knows. Here's some more details about the step, note it's not available on the 5.5 foot bed.

Box Side Step, which helps customers gain access to the front of the pickup box. This industry-first innovation, available on 6.5-foot and 8-foot Styleside boxes, is mounted firmly to the frame and tucks neatly beneath the underside of the box when not in use. The 11-inch wide step extends out from under the box with the push of a button and is easily stowed by pushing it back in. The system mounts one step on each side of the box for full access; each step can support up to 500 pounds.

Those are the same running boards as my '05 ... I'm HOPING that means that the power ones available on the Platinum edition may be easy to retrofit to the 04-08's... or there's always aftermarket.

You would at least thing they would update those... but hey, if it works don't fix it!

I'm not sure if these guys are supplying Ford the power Platinum steps or not, but they look pretty similiar: http://www.amp-research.com/

I always liked those running boards the best. In fact, I always wondered if the beige running boards on the KR were easier to keep looking new than the black ones on the Lariat, et al.

Have to always use trim shine on all the black plastic pieces to get them looking new again each time you wash/wax, otherwise they fade and look like crap. The less black plastic the better on this new truck IMO.

if you're using Armor All, I've always heard that it's bad and actually causes fading. I never applied anything to my door handles/flares/mirrors, and they still look like new after almost 4 years now.

I wonder how these trucks will look with window shades and bug shields? With those large chrome grille's will it look good or out of place? Always liked them before, maybe someone will photoshop a pic of one with them on the front and windows so we can see what they look like on the new design.

Good call. I was going to try leaving them alone if I bought a new one for that exact reason, to see if those rumors were true and they stay black without any type of care except general washing.

Did anyone else notice the black on the platinum truck was a very "metallic" black. Wondering if they are going to get the "tuxedo black" I've seen talked about.

That has to be the best interior I have ever seen in a pick up.
